Lona R. Walton, 83, of Berryville

Lona R. Walton of Berryville and formerly of Lakeview died Sunday (Dec. 25, 1994) at Berryville. She was 83.

Mrs. Walton was born Dec. 22, 1911, at Gassville to Amuel B. and Maude Alice McMahon Hopper. She married Floyd Walton on Oct. 4, 1931, at Whiteville. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. She lived in Baxter County all but two months of her life.

Mrs. Walton was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and two brothers, Cuay and Earl Hopper.

She is survived by two sons, George "G.B." Walton of Wilmington, Calif., and Allen Walton and his wife Mary of Mountain Home; two daughters, Doris Spitze and her husband Gerald of Berryville, and Winona Britt and her husband Norman of Gainesville, Mo.; one brother, Odell Hopper of the Monkey Run area; two sisters, Euna Pruitt and Fannie Marler both of the Monkey Run area; 17 grandchidlren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Servics will be 2 p.m. today at Roller Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Morrison officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Gofoth, Denny Copeland, Tony Hohr, Eddie Britt, Keith Stafford and Greg Walton.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Carrol General Hospital in Berryville.

Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home of Mountain Home.
