Services for 91-year-old Della M. Reed of Monkey Run will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Estel Grigg and the Rev. Randy Shipman officiating. Mrs. Reed died Monday (Oct. 30, 2000) at her residence.
She was born May 20, 1909, to Bennie and Oma Marler Young. She married Rex Reed on Oct. 5, 1933, in Gassville. She was a liftime member of Baxter County. Mrs. Reed was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Lee Reed and wife, Shirley, of Gassville, a daughter, Willa Jean Ralston and husband, Wayne, of Gassville; grandchildren, Paula Ralston Hickman and husband, Bill, of Gassville, Terrie Ralston Shipman and husband, Randy, of Springfield, Mo., Marvina Reed Carson and husband, Gene, of Gassville and Eugene Reed and wife, Teresa, of Gassville; great-grandchildren, Mikala Shipman King and husband, Bryan, of Liberty, Mo., Valerie Shipman of Springfield and Deborah Carson, Lucas Hickman, Amy Carson, Brandon Reed and Marie Reed, all of Gassville. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Oma Marler Young and husband, Rex Reed.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Roler Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Whitehead, Lunnie Franks, Eugene Reed, Bill Hickman, Gene Carson and Roger Marler. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewain Reed, Bobby Carson, Bob Cheek, Frank Adkins, Mike Pierson, Harvey Smith, Junior Treat and Basil Hickman.
Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
