Dwayne E. (Huck) Shaffer, 76, Mason City, Iowa, former resident of Springdale, died May 22 in Mason City. Born June 3, 1900, at Monticello, Ill., he was the son of Jacob and Ida Imal Shaffer, a member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church and former owner of Shaffer Manufacturing Co. in Rogers.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Louis (Ellen) Baker, Springdale, Mrs. Vern A. (Mildred) Graham, Garner, Iowa, Mrs. Carl (Laurine) Holding, Mason City, Iowa, and Mrs. Edward (Maryln) Schmidt, Bridge City, Tex.; two stepsons, Larry Hanner, Pea Ridge, and Darrell Hanner, Marshaltown, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Golding McKibben, Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Forest Judd, Plymouth, Iowa, and Mrs. Marie Delle, Eugene, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Benton County Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Callison Funeral Home of Rogers.

Rogers — Mrs. Fern Blanche Shaffer, 66, died this morning at the Springdale hospital. She was born July 7, 1899 at Gilmore City, Iowa and was a member of die Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Dwayne Shaffer of the home; her mother, Mrs. Lillie Bush of Manchester, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Ellen Baker and Mrs. Marilyn Schmidt both of Springdale, Mrs. Mildred Graham and Mrs. Laurine Bolding both of Mason City, Iowa; one brother, Francis Rush of Manchester, 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by Callison Funeral Home.
