Excerpt from The Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas, October 10, 1952:
Mrs. H. L. Brown, 87, died Saturday at her home in Gassville, burial in the Pilgrim's Rest cemetery. Survived by 6 sons, Jesse, Richard, Howard Powell of Gassville, Harvey Powell of Mountain Home, Edney Powell of Artesia, N. M. and Otto Powell of Cross Plains, Tex. and 2 daughters: Mrs. H. H. Lamb of Gassville and Mrs. H. W. White of Cotter.
Note: She is buried beside her first husband, James L. Powell, and shares a double gravestone with him under the surname of Powell.
