Mrs. Viola Marler,
Gassville Resident

Mrs. Viola Marler, 87, of Route 1, Gassville, the widow of J. E. Marler, died Monday at a Salem nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Baxter County and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Isaac Marler of Ontario, Ore., and L. J. Marler of Gassville; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Brannon of Yuba City, Calif., Mrs. Cora Megee of Rio Linda Calif., and Mrs. Ona Jones of Woodland, Calif.; a brother, Ab Stafford, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Sinor, both of Mountain Home; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The daughter of Albert J. Stafford and Hannah Wise Stafford, Mrs. Marler was born at Gassville on Jan. 6, 1882. She had been widowed since May 26, 1964.

Rev. Isaac Marler of Mountain Home officiated at the funeral service Wednesday at the Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church, west of here. Interment was in the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, with the McClure Service in charge of arrangements.
