Forrest Coger Brooks, 100, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at North Hills Life Care & Rehab. She was born June 23, 1908, to Luther Asa Coger and Liza Mayes Coger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle E. Brooks, in 1994.
She was educated in Springdale and Fayetteville public schools, the Fayetteville Business College, Jr. College in Wichita Falls, Texas, and the University of Arkansas. She taught school several years before she was married.
She worked with her husband in a Firestone and Texaco store on Dickson Street in Fayetteville. They sold the business in 1968 and retired.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Roy Hummel of Farmington; a sister, Willie Allyn Pitchford of Bartlesville, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Andrew Hall officiating.
