GUESS, Mary Jane NEWBERRY – Miss Mary Jane Newberry was born March 13, 1864 in Newton County, Ark. and was united in marriage to Mr. John T. Guess, Aug. 12, 1883. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife and good neighbor. She was baptized and united with the church militant and has lived a consistent Christian until the angel of death came and our heavenly Father took her to Himself.
This woman came into Washington County about four weeks ago with this family. We were permitted to converse with this mother and wife and we rejoice to say that she gave unmistakable evidence of her readiness to go when the summons came.
She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss, two sons, Albert and Stephen, young men, a daughter of thirteen Summers and a baby boy of three years.
They have the heartfelt sympathy of their neighbors and friends. She has one brother and one sister, R.L. Newberry and Rhoda Newberry, both of Arkansas. She passed peacefully away Sunday morning at 9 o'clock Feb. 18, 1905.
