May 8, 1956 - October 18, 2010
Maggie Reita Wehmann passed into the comforting arms of our Lord and Savior on October 18th, 2010. After a long fight with breast cancer, she is now finally at peace.
Always known to her friends as Meg, she was born May 8th, 1956 in Killeen, TX. The daughter of an army soldier, she lived on many bases in the US and in Germany during early childhood. As she reached middle school, the family settled near her grandmother’s house in Texarkana, AR. From there she graduated Arkansas High School and went to college at the University of Arkansas. She graduated with a teaching degree and went on to attain a Masters Degree in Secondary Education.
She joined the J.C. Penney Company and progressed through several management development roles to become a Senior Product Merchandiser. That career pursuit required her to relocate to Hot Springs, AR where she met her husband Ron. They settled in, started a family and came to call Hot Springs home.
While continuing to work, Meg focused her energies on her family. She taught them to swim, ski, hike and play in the marching band. Her life was filled with providing development opportunities for her family. Three years ago, as the family moved to Black Diamond, WA seeking ever more opportunities, she discovered that she had breast cancer.
Meg is survived by her husband, Ronald Wehmann, daughter Katherine Wehmann, and son Nicholas Wehmann all of Black Diamond, WA and by her brother Robert Teer of Arlington, VA.
Family visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gross Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Piney Grove United Methodist Church. Graveside service immediately follows at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Saturday 10/30 at 1:00 PM there will be a memorial service at Meg's Washington church; Cornerstone United Methodist in Covington, WA.
Memorials may be directed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
