Elena C. Pollo, age 91, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at her residence. She was born October 20, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph and Angeline Fabbri Sfara. She moved to Mountain Home in 1972 from Dolton, Illinois.
Mrs. Pollo was a retired secretary, a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church; the Business and Professional Women and was past president; was a volunteer with the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce and had received its “Opal Award”; and was a member of the Baxter Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors are: many nieces and nephews including: Marianne (Bob) Schapendonk: Mountain Home; Catherine Anne (Ray) Horvath: Alpharetta, Georgia; Christine Joanne (Dean) Grantham: Westchester, Pennsylvania; Joyce (John) Mell; Conrad (Mary) Skiba; Eileen Campagne; and Michael (Cynthia) Pollo; sister-in-law: Ernestine Glaus: Mountain Home; and a friend: Irene Bere: Lakeview, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Victor Pollo; and a sister: Corinne Munarin.
