Wilbur's parents were John Newton Hanshaw and Marcella (King) Hanshaw. Mabel Lucille (MCLaughlin) Hanshaw the daughter of William Jackson McLaughlin and Minnie Ann (Propst) McLaughlin.

WALNUT RIDGE -- Mabel McLaughlin Hanshaw, 96, of Walnut Ridge, died Thursday, Dec. 12, at Lawrence Hall Nursing and Rehab Center in Walnut Ridge.
Born in Lawrence County, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal belief.
Survivors include one son, Victor H. Hanshaw of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Wilma H. Fisher of Walnut Ridge and Rethea H. Browning of Memphis; one sister, Marie Willett of Black Rock; one brother, Eugene McLaughlin of Black Rock; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Oliver Hanshaw, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bryan Funeral Home chapel in Hoxie, with Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
