A.E. (Gene) Wickersham, 82, of Norfork, a retired farmer and merchant, died at a local hospital on Wednesday of last week. A native of Marion Co., he spent most of his life in Baxter Co. At the time of his death he was resididng at the Twin Lakes Nursing Home, near Mt. Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Susan (Mims Sword)Wickersham, of Norfork; two sons, Garland of Norfork and Eugene Wickersham of Frsno, CA; three daughter, Mrs. June (Vero) Hall of Norfork, Mrs. Pauline Rosengrants of Paramount, CA and Mrs. Nellie Landavazo of La Puente, CA; a brother Arthur Wickersham of Mt. Home; a sister Mrs. Mary Landrith of Caldwell, KS; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Wickersham was born in (Yellville) Marion Co. on Jan 5, 1886, the son of Ambrose and Nellie Cowrey Wickersham.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Galatia Methodist Church, near Norfork, followed by interment in the Galatia Cemetery. The McClure Service was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Roe Whitfield, Walter Arnold, Ralph Parnell, Jarroll Chapman, Eudell Southard and Larry Woody. Honorary bearers were Jim Greer, Maston Finley, Joe Nimmo, Chester Acklin and Wilson Chapman, Arvill Hall and Gene Adams.
