Mrs. J. C. Studdard was born April 7, 1877 in Clarksdake, Ill. She came to Baxter County in 1894 before her marriage. Her name was Laura Cowan. She died February 8, 1935, burial in Oakland Cemetery. She leaves her husband and seven daughters; Mrs. Thelma Jennings, Mrs. Isaac Watts, Mrs. Cecil Watts, Mrs. Henry Otten, Edna and Amy Studdard of Mountain Home and Mrs. J. J. Smith of Seminole, Okla., and one son Horace of Neosha, Missouri, two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Travis of Mountain Home and Mrs. Edgar Herstead of Springfield, Missouri and two brothers, J. L Cowan of Mountain Home and M. O. Cowan of Bristow, Okla.
