GREGG, Sarah MUNCEY - {from The Fayetteville Daily, Saturday} Mrs. Sarah Gregg entered into eternal rest at eight o'clock last night. The end was peaceful and serene, a fit close to a life that had been a benediction to all who came within the radius of its influence. In 1826, in Georgetown, near Chattanooga, Tennessee on the 10th of July, Sarah Muncey was born, The oldest of a family of thirteen children. When she attained the age of seventeen her mother died, leaving her in charge of a large family of small children. She came to this county in 1843 and was married to the late A.S. Gregg on Jan. 1st, 1852. She has lived in Fayetteville for twenty-three years and a better friend, a kinder neighbor or more faithful Christian could hardly be found. She joined the Methodist church when about fourteen years old and in all her long communion was a consistent, obedient and irreproachable member. She leaves three devoted children to mourn her loss: Mr. Toy Gregg, Mrs. Harry Hust and Mrs. Tom Gray, all of this city. One daughter, Mrs. Walker, preceded her eighteen years ago. Her sorrowing children and granddaughter whom she has reared, have the sincerest sympathy of the community in their great bereavement. The funeral services, conducted by E.R. Steel, will take place at the family residence on west Dickson street at four o'clock this afternoon and the interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, when her mortal remains will be placed by her husband's grave to await a better resurrection.
