The Revolutionary War memorial marker for Nathaniel McCarroll was placed beside the Old Bethel sign following the November 1990 dedication ceremony by the Jonesboro, AR, Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary Marvine Matthews Buerkle, a descendant of Nathaniel McCarroll, played a pivotal role in achieving this recognition.

Old Bethel Cemetery is located on Lawrence Road 225 approximately 1.1 m north of AR Highway 117. [Lawrence Road 225 is 4.5 m east of the town of Smithville and 6.5 m west of the town of Powhatan.] The entrance into the cemetery is approximately 0.2 m west of Lawrence Road 225.
