Annna Lee Jones, 86
Anna Lee Jones 86, of Wiseman, Arkansas, was born January 3, 1925, in Brockwell, Arkansas, the daughter of Lewis Arthur and Mary Ann (Byram) Forrest. She departed this life on January 7, 2011, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
Anna was united in marriage to Thurman Claude Jones on April 19, 1946, at Batesville, Arkansas.
She graduated from Arkansas State University, then worked as a school teacher for the Violet Hill School. She was a member of the Wiseman United Methodist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for approximately 50 years and she was a member of the Izard County Retired Teachers Association.
She leaves to mourn her passing: one daughter, Karen Nelson (Bill) of Jonesboro; one son Bruce Jones of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one brother Cloyce Forrest (Melba) of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Brett and Kathryn Nelson, Jeremy, Randy, Stacey and Stephanie Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Lanie, Chloe, Brannon, Toby, Bradan, Anya and Cooper; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Rex Forrest, an infant sister, and infant great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Lewis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, 1:00 PM, at Wiseman United Methodist Church in Wiseman, Arkansas, with Bro. Loye Vern Mason officiating. Interment will be in the Forrest Chapel Cemetery at Melbourne, Arkansas, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be James Tanner, Lindell Tanner, Jason Fountain, Jeremy Jones, Randy Jones and Brett Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Granville Todd, Richard Harber, Bobby Bookout, Kathryn Nelson, Stacey Jones and Stephanie Jones.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 PM, at the funeral Home.
Memorials preferred to the Forrest Chapel Cemetery, P.O. Box 1207, Melbourne, AR 72556.
