Amy Oldham, 80, of Malvern, Ark., formerly of Metropolis, Ill., peacefully entered into her eternal home Friday, Oct. 19, 2007. She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Walnut Grove, Miss., to Albert Armstrong and Julie Moriah Simpson Armstrong. She was a member of the Waldo Baptist Church of Metropolis, Ill. She loved nature, gardening and taking care of her flowers, especially her African Violets. She is survived by three sons, Thomas Oldham and his wife, Lisa, of Metropolis, Ill., Bobby Charles Oldham of Calvert City, Ky., Michael Wayne Oldham and his wife, Pam, of Ledbetter, Ky.; one daughter, Betty Ann Murphy and her husband, Roger, of Malvern, Ark.; two brothers, Buddy Adair of Hickory Ridge, Ark., Travis Mullins of Hickory Ridge, Ark.; one sister, Jewell Davis of Mississippi; 17 grandchildren, Kelly Whitaker, Tommy Oldham, Shawna Stewart, Charles Oldham, Juliann Holmes, John Thomas Oldham, Aimee Henderson, Stewart Oldham, Rebeccah Oldham, Tonya Oldham, Levi Oldham, Luke Oldham, Amanda Cain, Elisha Lee, Kristy Miller, Whitney Gentry and Courtney Mayes and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Thomas “Bud” Oldham; one son, James Ricky Oldham; one daughter, Connie Sue Oldham and a brother, Ray Mullins. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.J. Tidwell officiating.
Visitation was held Sunday, 2 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernie Cox, Ron Henderson, Wayne Henderson, Tony Womble, Tom Harold Williams and James Wallace.
