Cause of Death: breast cancer
Margaret treated herself for the lump in her breast for quite a while before telling any family members. Upon realization of the seriousness of her health, a doctor (Dr. J. Mathews) from Conway came to her home in Flippin and operated on her. He was the brother of the wife of Seth Hurst who lived next door and who was a dear friend. Margaret recovered from the operation and was up and about. She was standing in the doorway and collapsed. She was bed-ridden from then until her death about a three month later.
