Edith's parents were John William Worlow and Willie Catherine (Woodward) Worlow.
Edith Worlow Carter, 96, of Walnut Ridge, died Nov. 9, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born March 22, 1914, in the Oak Grove community near Sedgwick, she was the daughter of John William and Willie Catherine Woodward Worlow.
She worked as a cosmetology instructor in St. Louis for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge and was a resident of Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Peyton Carter, whom she married on Oct. 30, 1939; two brothers, Joe Worlow and Dee Worlow; six sisters, Essie Manning, Lillie Shackelford, Elsie Worlow, Hazel Worlow, Effie Baird and Ethel Worlow; three special nephews, Tom Manning, Walter Manning and Charles Shackelford; two nieces and another nephew.
Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.
