Mrs. Hattie Barber, 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bonita Peevey of Dyersburg, Tenn., Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.

She had been in failing health for the past several years and seriously ill for the past two weeks.

She was born August 24, 1892, in Franklin Co. Alabama and was the daughter of Cora Lee Malone and T. R. Wood. She had spent most of her life here in Forrest City and had moved to Dyersburg seven months ago.

Mrs. Barber was a housewife and a member of the Colt Methodist Church. Her husband Jess Barber preceeded her in death in 1956.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Bonita Peevey of Dyersburg; one brother, Fred Wood of Dallas, and one grand-child.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Berlon Davis. Burial wll be in the Hughes Cemetery, north of Forrest City.
