Earl James Douglas, 48, of Route 3, Mountain Home, died Thursday, Feb. 18, at a local clinic following a sudden illness.
Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Sunday at the McClure chapel with Rev. Harold Elmore, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery near Mountain Home, with the McClure Service in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Douglas, a native and a lifetime resident of Baxter County, was a plumber. He resided in the Tracy Ferry Area southeast of Mountain Home.
He was born June 15, 1916, at Mountain Home, the son of Franklin Douglas and Flora Grant Douglas. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie M. Douglas, of the home; a son, James Carl, and a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Holland Jr., both of Mountain Home; four brothers, Walter and Lee of Mountain Home, Vernon of Fallon, Nev., and Charlie of Wichita, Kans.; and four sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hall of Gustine, Calif., Mrs. Allie Wallis of Desoto, Kans., Mrs. Bertie Douglas of Pamona, Clif. and Mrs. Minnie Mattis of Belle Plains, Kans.
Pallbeares were James Baker, James Preyer, Harold Wickiser, Bill Conner, Monroe Parks and Virgil Allen.
