Mrs. Robbie Hughes Skelton, age 81, of Forrest City, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.Mrs. Skelton was born Oct. 10. 1922, in Caldwell, the daughter of Jessie P. Hughes and Claudia Bell Trimue Hughes. She was retired from General Industries after 27 years, was a bookkeeper for Delta Ice Company and a member of the Second Baptist Church were she was a Sunday School teacher.Mrs. Skelton married Feilding "Jack" Skelton in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She is survived by two sons, Bill Skelton and Tommy Skelton both of Forrest City; two daughters, Nancy Higgins of Forrest City and Phyllis McGraw of Palestine; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, David Skelton and Bobby Skelton.Visitation for Mrs. Skelton will be held on Friday, April 9, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Second Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 1 p.m., at Second Baptist Church with burial following in Hughes Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
