November 20, 1924 - May 11, 2021
GEORGE LESLIE BUNCH SR., Villa Ridge, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the age of 96 years, 5 months and 21 days. Mr. Bunch was born on November 20, 1924 in Light, Arkansas. He graduated from Walcott High School in approximately 1941.
He then entered the Merchant Marines in 1942, where he served until 1946.
George married the love of his life, Imogene Mona Shelton on January 22, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, where they lived for 14 years.
George & Imogene remained devoted to one another for 63 years of marriage, the last 10 years of, which saw Imogene confined to a nursing home. George saw to the care of his beloved Imogene by way of daily visits to ensure that she was attended to with the utmost loving care.
George was preceded in death by his Father, George Washington Bunch; by his Mother, Nancy Annie Cunningham; by his beloved wife Imogene Mona (Shelton) Bunch; and by one Grandson Thomas Cole Hood.
George is survived by 7 children: Sharon, Larry, Sandra, Deborah, Tanya, David & George, Jr. (Tony). George is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
George was lovingly dedicated in service to the Lord in the following capacities: Teacher, Treasurer, Counselor, Deacon, Custodian, Bus Driver & Outreach Ministry Coordinator.
George was widely loved and admired, as well as respected greatly by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.
Visitation for Mr. Bunch is Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2 P.M. at Walnut Corner General Baptist Church in Light, Arkansas.
Interment will follow at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

Imogene M. Bunch, 79, of Pacific, MO., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008.
She was born at Alicia, AR., on Dec. 14, 1928, the daughter of William T. and Anna Marie Gosha Shelton.
Survivors include her husband, George; sister, Ruby Bellah of California; four daughters, Shaaron Huddleston of St. Peters, Mo., Sandra (Owen) Jones of Hills-boro, Mo., Deborah (Craig) Bremerkamp of Villa Ridge, Mo., and Tanya (Mark) Clayton of Rosebud, Mo.; three sons, Larry L. (Margaret) Bunch of Springdale, David (Mary) Bunch of Winfield, Mo., and George L. (Tony) Bunch (Diane) of Ellisville, Mo.; 17 grand-children; and 18 great-grand-children.
Funeral services were in Walnut Corner General Baptist Church at Light, AR. Interment was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.
