ERNST, William Hall - William Hall Ernst was born July 11, 1843 at Farmington, Ill., graduated from Milton college in the classical course in 1874 and from Alfred University in the theological course in 1877. In 1872 he was married to Miss Hannah L. Stillman. To this union two sons were born, Nathan C. of Gentry and James F., who died in early childhood. He gave his life to the ministry of the Gospel, in the Seventh Day Baptist church, and served the following churches as pastor: Alden, Trenton and Dodge Center, Minn.; West Hallock and Farena, Ill.; Scott, Portville and West Gennessee in New York state, and Algion, Wis. During the war Mr. Ernst was a member of Co. M., First Volunteer Heavy Artillery He is survived by his wife and son Nathan, and Fannie Berthand, whom he has raised since she was three years of age; also a brother, H.M. Ernst of Dodge Center and a sister, Mrs. I.J. Booth of Cresco, Iowa. The brother was present at the funeral. After a three weeks' sickness he died at his home in Gentry Ark. Sept. 2, 1915 aged 72 years, 1 month and 22 days. The funeral services were held in the S.D.B. church Saturday morning, Sept. 4, conducted by Elder J.H. Biggs, a close personal friend of Brother Ernst, assisted by Rev. L.A. Turner, pastor of the Congregational church of Gentry. He was laid to rest in the cemetery at Gentry, Ark

ERNST, Hannah L. STILLMAN - Hannah L. Stillman was born in Wisconsin March 18, 1853. Died in Gentry, Ark. March 24, 1922, age 69 years and 6 days. In 1862 she was married to W.H. Ernst, a Seventh Day Baptist minister. To this union two children were born, Nathan 0. and James F. They also became the foster parents of a little girl whom they raised and loved as their own. The husband and one son preceded the wife and mother in death. Nathan and the foster daughter, Mrs. Fannie Toney, are left to mourn their mother's death. Mrs. Ernst was converted at the age of 9 and joined the Seventh Day Baptist church of which she lived a faithful member until April 1921 when she united with the Gentry Methodist church and was an active member at the time of her death. The church and the W.R.C., of which she was a member, have sustained a great loss. The funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon by Rev. C.H. Sherman from the Methodist church and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery amid the many beautiful flowers, the gifts of a host of bereaved friends.
