Johnson A Ross was born in Walker County, Alabama. His parents were Hugh P and Mary Manasco Ross.
Mary
1832 - 1890
Mary Ann Allen was the daughter of Joseph and Rhoda Aldridge and was born in Walker County, Alabama.
Johnson moved to Texas and subsequently moved to Bossier Parish, Louisiana where he met and married Mary who had moved there with her parents around 1851. Mary's mother, Rhoda, died in Louisiana around 1858 and then they all moved north into Sevier County, Arkansas near Paraclifta. Joseph died in Sevier County around 1875. Johnson and Mary moved further north to Galena, Polk County (now Howard), Arkansas where they remained for the rest of their lives.
