William Eldon Hestand, 80, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died April 15, 2010 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born January 27, 1930 at Eldora, Oklahoma, the son of Edgar Alexander "Ed" and Zona Mary Bradley Hestand. He was a retired transportation director for the Huntsville Public Schools, was serving as an alderman on the Huntsville City Council and a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva Jean Seymour Hestand on September 5, 2003. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Jo Garrett and one great-granddaughter, Kassidy Robinson.
Survivors include: his wife, Loyce Bolinger Hestand of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Evelyn Hestand of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Janice Murr of Huntsville, Arkansas; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Nona and Rick Jackson of Berryville, Arkansas; one brother, Elvis Hestand of Portales, New Mexico; one sister, Travis Banks of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 P. M. Saturday, April 17, at the Huntsville Church of Christ with Larry Combs, Minister and Charles Berry, Eulogist officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Craig Murr, Roy Lee Phillips, Doug Robinson, Randy Robinson, Chad Hestand, Scott Murr, Kyle Jackson and Andy Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Huntsville Church of Christ.
