Rubye Evans Brewer, age 95, of Benton died Sunday, October 10, 2004. She was born to T.F. and Gertrude Evans in Harrison, Arkansas, July 15, 1909. Mrs. Brewer was a retired teacher with service of 27 years in the Batesville and Mountain View, Arkansas, public schools. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Good Sam Club, various clubs, and The First United Methodist Church of Benton, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 65 years, H. Clay Brewer, and daughter, Jo Ruth Hoover.
Survivors are daughter, Dorothy Brashears and husband Don, son-in-law William C. Hoover, and sister, Eileen Williamson. Also surviving are grandchildren Julie Harkrider and husband Cary, Clay Brashears and wife Sharon, Amy Vrana and husband Stanley, great-grandchildren Donna, Austin, and Bailey Harkrider; Chelsea, Courtney, and Cassidy Brashears; Parker and Garrett Vrana.
Funeral services will be held at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Susan Ledbetter officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday October 11, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Rosemont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Arkansas of the American Heart Association.
