SILOAM SPRINGS — Stefan Pankiewicz, 93, of Siloam Springs died Sept. 10, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Brzezawa, Ukraine. He lived in the Ukraine until 1940, when he moved to Germany. He was a World War II refugee and was sponsored to Siloam Springs in 1950. He was a cattle and poultry farmer, who enjoyed gardening and was a Catholic. He married Julianna Malaszcruk on June 3, 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Julianna Pankiewicz of Siloam Springs; one son, John Pankiewicz and wife Irena of Sugar Land, Texas; two grandchildren, Alex and Kasia Pankiewicz of Sugar Land.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Siloam Springs. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

SILOAM SPRINGS — Julianna Pankiewicz, 93, of Siloam Springs died Jan 18, 2009, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1915, in Monaster, Ukraine, to Michael and Maria Malaszczuk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan Pankiewicz. She and her husband moved to Siloam Springs in 1950. She was an organic gardener, a rancher and a Greek Catholic.
Survivors include a son, John Pankiewicz and wife Irena; and two grandchildren.
A rosary liturgy will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
