Wife of Isaac Murphy (Governor of Arkansas 1864 to 1868)

Died, in Huntsville, Madison County, Arks., on the 15th day of February, 1860, Mrs. Angelina A. Murphy, consort of Isaac Murphy and daughter of William and Elizabeth Lockert, aged 46 years. The subject of this notice was born in the State of Tennessee, Montgomery County, on the 18th day of October 1813; was married to Isaac Murphy on the 31st day of July 1830; and in the year 1834 removed to western Arkansas; for a number of years she was a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and for a few years past she was an orderly member of the M. E. Church, South and remained a member thereof up to the time of her death. And although she had not the good fortune to be blessed with an abundance of the treasures of life yet in the hour of death she gave satisfying evidence that she had laid up in store treasures in Heaven. She toiled much amidst afflictions, to train up her children in the way they should go. But she is dead; her soul is in Eternity. She died happy in a Savior's love. She leaves a devoted husband, affectionate children, relatives and friends to mourn her loss. J.R.B.
