Calvin Frank Deal
Calvin Frank Deal, 84, of Crossett died Monday, May 23, 2005, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. Born on April 8, 1921 in Ladelle, the late Ed Richard and Laura Clyde Ferguson Deal, he was an U. S. Army veteran and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 44 years of service. Mr. Deal was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and playing rook.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy B. Carter Deal of Crossett; two sons, Gayle Deal and his wife Gloria and Eddie Deal and wife Pollye; one daughter, Frankie Jean Welchel and husband Terry, all of Crossett; one brother, Earl Armell Deal of Crossett, two sisters, Willie Deal Pritchard of Crossett and Margaret Louise Deal Smith of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Cindy Robinson, Downey Robinson, Russ Deal, Denise McMillan, Jackie Johnson, LeAnne Rhodes, and Ashley Miller, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jessie Deal, a sister, Gladys Daniel, a brother, Shirley Ervin Deal and a great-grandson, Zachary Clark Russell.
Funeral services were planned at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at Magnolia Baptist Church. Pallbearers were to be Wayland Stinson, Ronnie Goodman, Joe Rodgers, Jesse Harrison, Jim Bob McCormick, Harold Deal. Honorary pallbearers were to be grandsons Downey Robinson, Russ Deal, Scott McMillan, Jackie Johnson, Jason Rhodes, Stephen Miller and Scott Wheeler and nephews. Interment will follow at Deal Cemetery in Ladelle under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.
Dorothy Carter Deal
CROSSETT - Dorothy Belle Carter Deal, age 84, of Crossett passed away on Friday, March 17, 2006 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 19, 1921 in Crossett, Ark., to her late parents, Oscar Lee and Maude Smith Carter. Mrs. Deal was a retired First National Bank of Crossett employee and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with her family. Remembered by many as the Ultimate Hostess, she made everyone feel welcome at her table. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Calvin Frank Deal; a great-grandson, Zachary Wayne Clark Russell; and one sister, Sibyl Berry.
Survivors include two sons, Gayle Deal and his wife Gloria; Eddie Deal and his wife, Pollye; one daughter, Frankie Jean Welchel and husband, Terry, all of Crossett; three sisters, Katie Joe Morgan and Willie Jeanette Fisher, both of Crossett, Ark., and Verna Morgan of McGehee, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Cindy Robinson, Downey Robinson, Russ Deal, Denise McMillan, Jackie Johnson, LeAnne Rhodes, Ashley Miller; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, and one great-great-grandchild due in November.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2006 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Griffith and Bro. Kevin Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Deal Cemetery in Ladelle, Ark., under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark.
