Dr. John Bearden, city health officer of Springdale, died at his home there Sunday, February 5, from lock jaw following the pulling of an abscessed tooth. The deceased was 44 years of age and is survived by his wife and two children, a boy and a girl, aged 10 and 7 years, his parents, M.J. Bearden and wife of Yellville, one sister and two brothers. One of the latter, Rev. R.E.L. Bearden was, a few years ago, pastor of the Bentonville M.E. church, South. Dr. Bearden had been a resident and practicing physician of Springdale for the past five years. The funeral was held Monday and interment made at Springdale, all his near relatives being present at the funeral.
