FEATHERSTONE, Jesse G. - Jesse G. Featherstone was born Dec. 9th, 1815 in Rutherford county, Tenn. and died of heart failure Aug. 23, 1899, aged 83 years, 9 months and 14 days. He came to Benton county in 1844; was married to Margaret Carroll Oct. 19, 1854; to them were born ten children. He leaves a wife, 8 children, a twin brother and one sister. His death was a great shock to his loved ones as he was suddenly stricken down while at work about the home and could not speak to them the loving, comforting words they so longed to hear but left them widowed and fatherless to mourn for one whose place can never be filled. He was a kind, loving father and husband; his children were his pride and he loved them dearly. He professed religion in 1852 and joined the Methodist church. They laid him to rest at New Home, the place where he loved so well to worship. A Friend.
