November 28, 1915 - October 21, 1997
Estelle Smith Floyd, 81, of Star City, died October 21, 1997, at Gardner Nursing Home. She was born at Rowell on November 28, 1915, a daughter of the late W.R. Smith and Clara Thornton Smith. She was retired from Floyd Sawmill Inc. of Star City, where she was a co-founder and part owner. It was founded in 1938. She was also a member of First Baptist Church at Star City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Floyd; a brother, Glenn Smith; and a grandson. Survivors include a son, Robert Smith Floyd of Star City; two daughters, Virginia Harris and Glynetta Burnett, both of Star City; a brother, J.D. Smith of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Gertie Phelps and Mildred Roberts, both of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Ed Smith officiating. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery at Star City by Griffin Funeral Service of Star City.
