WALNUT RIDGE —Sidney Parsons, 66, of Walnut Ridge, died Friday, June 28, at his residence. Born at Pocahontas, he was a farmer, a factory employee and a veteran of the Army. He was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Euna Parsons of the home; a son, Randy Parsons of Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Cindy George of Walnut Ridge; five brothers, Chester Parsons of Pocahontas, Ray Parsons and Chelces Parsons, both of Portia, Charles Parsons of Walnut Ridge and John Parsons of Horseshoe Bend; four sisters, Pat Carley and Alice Gillispie, both of Hoxie, Mable Lamb of Egypt and Beatrice Manning of Rock Falls, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Travis Parsons, Dustin Chesser, Ashley George and Melanie Chesser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney and Edna Warner Parsons, and a sister.

Arrangements will be announced by Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

WALNUT RIDGE ? Funeral services for Sidney Parsons, 66, of Walnut Ridge, who died Friday, June 28, at his residence will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Bryan Funeral Home chapel in Hoxie, with William Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Hoggard, Gregg Smith, Jeff Moskop, Travis Parsons, Dustin Chesser, Brady Hoggard, Ray Hoggard and Sparky Redding.

Euna Faye Hoggard Parsons, 80 of Walnut Ridge, passed away January 20, 2019 in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Born November 29, 1938 in Nelsonville; daughter of Palmer and Norma Thompkins Hoggard. She was united in marriage to Sidney Parsons on November 19, 1956. She was a factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Euna Faye or as she was known by her grandchildren, Memaw was an avid college basketball fan. Her favorite two teams were the Arkansas Razorbacks and Kansas Jayhawks. During her time at Egypt High school she played on the senior girls basketball team and was voted best athlete of her senior class. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with cooking fried potatoes and pork chops for family gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sidney; two brothers, Ray and Brady Hoggard.

Survivors include her son, Randy (Cathy) Parsons of Walnut Ridge; one daughter, Cindy George of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Ashley George, Travis (Brittany) Parsons, Dustin (Cindy) Chesser and Melanie (Jeremy) Hargis; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Hoggard of Wichita, KS, and Dale Hoggard of Prior, OK; one sister, Dorie Mae Redding of Fenton, MO; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 12 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Terry Hoggard officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. till 12 P.M. Wednesday.
