Mrs. Mable Howerton, age 90, of Jonesboro and formerly of Haynes, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004.Mrs. Howerton was born July 31, 1913, in Haynes, the daughter of William Thomas Cox and Alice Bullard Cox. She was a school teacher, member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Marianna and a member of the Eastern Star.Mrs. Howerton married Raymond Howerton in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by a son, Arnold Verhoeven of Haynes; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Forrest Park Cemetery, at 2 p.m. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements
