I have been told that Calvin was born Calvin Williamson Stainback in 1879 at Iverness, Sommerville, Fayette Co., Tennessee, to William Edward Stainback, Sr., and Priscilla Amelia Williamson. Priscilla's sister, Sarah Blount Williamson, married a Calvin Cherry. Calvin Stainback was named for his Uncle Calvin Cherry. Priscilla Williamson Stainback died within days of giving birth to Calvin. He was the youngest of the Stainback children and was raised by his Uncle Calvin and Aunt Sarah Cherry. Since he was raised practically from birth by the Cherry's, he took their last name.
Olivia was a daughter of Wiley and Pauline O'Connell Fletcher.
