Aug.14,1970-Mrs.Mabel Hamilton, 66, died at her home in Madison Friday morning. She had been seriously ill for the past year. Born in Yocona community south of Forrest City on Nov.27,1903, she was the daughter of Melissa McDaniel Whittenton and John Ivy Whittenton. She lived her entire life in the Forrest City area, the past 34 years spent in Madison. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Madison. Her husband, Virgil B.Hamilton, whom she married in 1928, preceded her in death in 1941. Funeral services will be held by Rev.J.D.Webb at the Stevens Funeral Home Sunday, with burial in the Forrest City cemetery. Mrs.Hamilton leaves one son, Virgil B.Hamilton Jr., of Memphis, and one daughter, Mrs.Elizabeth Ann O'Cain of Madison, and six grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs.Leta Christman of Snow Lake, Miss. and Mrs.Cecil McFall of Forrest City.
