Henry Louis Pickney, 86, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 in Walnut Ridge. He was born on November 21, 1932 to Jessie and Lula (Brewer) Pickney. He married Susie “Fern” Schultz on September 11, 1952. He served in the Army During the Korean War. Moved to Rockford, IL; where his four children were born. He was employed by National Lock Company. He was a volunteer fireman for many years. Following the death of his wife in November 1982, he returned to Flippin, AR where he spent many years employed by Ranger Boat Company.
Henry is survived by his children, Sabra (Mike) Hennelly of Utica, KY, Terry (John) Thompson of Monroe Center, IL, Reginald “Reggie” (Sarah) Pickney of Walnut Ridge, AR, and Gregory (Rose) Pickney of Rockford, IL; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by sisters, Wanda (Pickney) Tinsley, Gladys Faye (O’Neal) Jimmerson, Suzanne (O’Neal) Douglas; a brother, Paul (Patricia) O’Neal; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Mary (O’Neal) Lawler, and brother Jack O’Neal. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12P.M. in the Bryan Funeral Home, 415 NW Texas St. Hoxie, AR;
Pallbearers will be Reggie and Ancen Pickney, Mike Phillips, Mike Hennelly, Dan Baumgartner and Chuck Thompson. Burial with Military Honors will following in Lawrence Memorial Cemetery, Walnut Ridge, AR.
Memorials in Mr. Pickney's honor may be made to Legacy Hospice in Walnut Ridge.
