Obit* George Thomas Davis of Sugar Creek, MO, formerly of Mammoth Spring, AR, son of the late Joseph Howard Davis and Liddie Catherine Blaylock Davis, was born Aug. 21, 1902 at Columbia, TN, and departed this life April 25, 1986 at the Truman Medical West Hospital in Kansas City, MO at the age of 83 years. He was united in marriage Oct. 27, 1921 at Many Islands, AR to Icy Alice Davis, who preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Harry Davis of Sugar Creek; two daughters, Lola McMullen of Pueblo, CO; and Alberta England of Mammonth Spring; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Monday, April 28, 1986 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Bro. Clovis Ragsdale officiating. Interment was in Walker Cemetery at Hardy, under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer. --From the Oregon County Shoppers News, 30 Apr 1986,
