Mrs. Brown was born in Houston, Texas, to Henry Jackson and Violet Brugh Gingles. The family moved to Benton in 1922.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry Martin Brown, her daughter Cherry Brown Young and her sister Cherry Gingles Demuth.
Survivors included her son Greg Brown and her granddaughter Robin B Young.
After her father's death, Mrs. Brown became Chairman of the Board of Gingles Department Stores, Inc. At the time of her death, she was also a member of the Board of Directors of Union Bancshares of Benton, Inc., and its subsidiary, the Union Bank of Benton.
