Mrs. Edna Mae Upshaw Baker, 70, of 1905 Lucia Lane, Pine Bluff, formerly of Wilmar, died Thursday, May 21, at Jefferson Hospital, Pine Bluff.Mrs. Baker was born November 2, 1910 at Warren, a daughter of William Alexander and Ada Nicholson. She married Thomas Boyce Baker, who died August 2, 1978. Mrs. Baker was a member of Forrest Park Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff and for many years was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Warren. Survivors include a son, Boyce W. Baker of Baton Rouge, La; two daughters, Mrs. Bitsy Tucker of SeaBrook, Tx, and Mrs. Lynell Childrey of Pine Bluff; eight grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at Frazer's Chapel of the Chimes by Rev. Arlis Thrasher of Pine Bluff. Mrs. Janice Sullivan was organist. Al Stewart of Pine Bluff was soloist. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Melton, Howard Melton, Sam Bob Donovan, Vance Ozment, Dewey Rodgers and Willie McMurry. Honorary pallbearers were Kerwin Baker, Gregory Eads, Buddy Eads, Allen Hansen and Jimmy Shaddock. -- from the Eagle Democrat, Warren, AR
