TUCKERMAN - Eugene Earl Huskey , 70, retired farmer, died Saturday at Harris Hospital in Newport.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of Christ, where he was a member, with burial in Penn Cemetery in Strawberry. Jackson's Newport Funeral Home has charge.
Mr. Huskey, the husband of Maxine L. Huskey, also leaves a daughter, Patricia Ann Davis of Newport; a son, Larry Wayne Hooten of Paragould; three sisters, Hazel Rowlett and Velma Huskey, both of Tuckerman, and Olene Hays of Cedar Lake, Tenn.; a brother, Paul Huskey of Saffell, Ark., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Maxine L. (Hooten) Huskey, 83, of Tuckerman died Wednesday, July 8, 2009. She was born December 16, 1925 at Strawberry, Arkansas, the daughter of John Shelby and Clara Mae (Hugg) Hooten.
Mrs. Huskey was a domestic caregiver and a homemaker. She was a 1947 graduate of Egypt High School, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a longtime member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ.
Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Earl Huskey; two sisters, Verna Petrek and Rose Marie Hooten.
She is survived by one son, Larry Wayne Hooten and wife, LaWanda, of Paragould; one daughter, Patricia Ann Davis of Tuckerman; one foster son, Luther O'Neal Sutter, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Little Rock; five brothers, Charles Ellis Hooten of Walnut Ridge, William Paul Hooten of Jonesboro, Dale Hooten of Philmore, Calif.; Thomas Hooten of Philmore, Calif., and Joe K. Hooten of Victoria, Texas; three sisters, Barbara Alsup of Philmore, Calif., Brenda Smith of Philmore, Calif., and Linda Wilson of Hoxie; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Tuckerman Church of Christ. Interment followed in Penn Cemetery at Strawberry.
