RILEY, H. Clay - H. Clay Riley, a well known farmer of Decatur, died last Friday night after a year or more of illness. He was 74 years old. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon with burial in the Decatur Cemetery. Mr. Riley was one of the early settlers of the Decatur community, having come there with his parents in 1867 when he was ten years of age. His father located on a large tract of land in the Mt. Zion community where Mr. Riley spent most of his life. Less than a year ago he sold his homestead to his son, Dave, and bought the former January place in Decatur where he and Mrs. Riley have since made their home. Mr. Riley was twice married, his second wife being Temperance Elizabeth Box. They were married 49 years ago. Besides Mrs. Riley he is survived by three sons: Bob of Oklahoma, Dave and John Riley of Decatur, also by two daughters, Mrs. Annie Wilmoth and Mrs. Maud Gordon. Mr. Riley was an ideal citizen, a good neighbor, a considerate husband and father. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

{from Decatur} Ike Box of Joplin, Mo. came down Monday to attend the funeral of Clay Riley. On returning home his car was run into on the Barnwell hill by Barney Smiley of Siloam Springs. His car was almost torn to pieces but fortunately no one was seriously injured.
