Carrie Juanita Acklin Branscum of Gassville, daughter of the late Ira and Ruth McGowen Acklin, was born February 18, 1920, in McPherson. She died September 14, 2002, in Mt. Home. She ws 82 years old.
Mrs. Branscum was united in marriage to Guy Branscum on June 22, 1946, at Mt. Home. To this union one child was born.
During her working years Mrs. Branscum was a clerk at a laundry service. She was a lifetime area reaident and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include one brother, Jack Acklin of Cotter; and one niece, Brenda Acklin of Harrison. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; her son, Billy; a brother, Iberia Acklin; and a half brother Jerry McGowan.
Graveside services were held September 17, 2002, at Galatia Cemetery with Reverend Gale Wooten officiating.
Interment was at Galatia Cemetery near Norfork under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Mt. Home.
