NICHOLS, Frances Brickle HICKS - Frances Brickle Hicks was born in New York City on Walnut street June 20, 1829; died Sept. 10, 1927, aged 98 years 2 months and 21 days. Her girlhood days were spent in Scotland county, Missouri. She was married to James Harvey Nichols of Kentucky August 16, 1849. Three children were born of this union. They are: John R. Nichols, Lowell, Ark.; Mrs. Emma Carroll, Bentonville, Ark. and Harvey W Nichols, Aberdeen, Idaho. She joined the Missionary Baptist church when about 18 years of age. She died with her faith strong in her Redeemer. Her husband died Jan. 25, 1898. She spent the long years of her widow-hood with her son, J.R. Nichols, and her daughter, Mrs. Emma Carroll. The funeral services were held at Mt. Hebron church Sept. 11 at three o'clock. The Rev. W.T. Bone preached the sermon and friends sang the old sweet songs she loved. Her body was laid to rest by the side of her husband in Mt. Hebron cemetery
