(from Cave Springs) Grandma Sammons died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Sharp, east of Cave Springs on Tuesday afternoon, November 2nd, 1926 after being in failing health for some time. She was a woman of sterling character and was respected by friends and neighbors. A touching scene at the funeral services was the loving tribute paid her by the four grandchildren who acted as pallbearers whom she had loved and cared for since babyhood. They were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bagby, Dave Boyd, Lester Glover and Leta and Lois Gamble. The funeral was conducted at 2 o'clock on Wednesday by Revs. Tillman, Johnson and Rice of Springdale at the new Temperance Hill church, after which she was laid to rest in the Barron cemetery beside her husband who preceded her to the Great Beyond some time ago.
