PHILBECK, Mary - The death of Miss Mary Philbeck at Fayetteville last week was the result of a fall occasioned by stepping on a banana peel. Hardly a day passes in Rogers that someone does not slip from such a cause and yet the careless public keep up the habit of dropping peelings on the walk instead of flinging them in the gutter.

Benton County Democrat

(From The Fayetteville Republican) Mary Philbeck, the only daughter of Mrs. M.J. Philbeck, died at 3 o'clock this morning of bone erysipelas after only a week's illness. She was 12 years old but in her short life, by her sweet and unusually bright manner, had greatly endeared herself to her family and little friends by whom she will be greatly missed. We extend to her mother and brothers our sincerest sympathy. The funeral will be at the Methodist church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Steele officiating. The family will leave with the remains on the 5 o'clock train for Bentonville where the interment will take place.
