Mary Beatrice Mayfield Thompson, duaghter of the late Henderson and Hattie Mayfield, was born June 21, 1924, in Calico rock. She departed this life Tuesday, Oct 12, 2004, at her home in Calico Rock at the age of 80 years, four mounths, and 21 days. Beatrice was a 1943 graduated of Calico Rock High School. She was united in marriage to Patrick Eugene Thompson, Sr. on Nov 26, 1946. To this union, two sons were born. Beatrice spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She retired from the Baxter Lab after 22 years of employment. She was of the Catholic faith.
Beatrice leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 57 year, Patrick Eugene Thompson, Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick E. and Cora Thompson, Jr. and Michael B. and Vicki Thompson all of Calico Rock; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Henderson and Sue Mayfield, Jr., Robert and Marie Mayfield all of Kansas City, MO and Bruce and Jeanette Mayfield of Clarkridge; eight grandchildren and spouses, Patrick E, and Kristie Thompson III, Tonya and Winston Wilcox, Stephanie and Kelly Cannon, Feather and Clint Young and Mandi Thompson, all of Calico Rock and Elizabeth, John and Seth Thompson of New Mexico; nine great granchildren, Lea Killian, Tiffany Young, Dylan Woody, Evan Thompson, Creed Young, Madilin Lynn Clayton Thompson, Memphis Young and Hattie Lynn; two brothers-in-law, Keith Rash and Gordon Lebowich; three sisters-in-law, Bell Thompson, Kaye Thompson and Ruth Lebowich; and aunt Geneva Knipp; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Neva Jean Mayfield Rash; one brother, Charles Edward 'Sonny' Mayfield; one granddaughter, Ami Thompson; one infant daughter; and one nephew, James Mayfield.
A funeral was 2PM Saturday, Oct 16, 2004, at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Gale Wooten officiating. Burial was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Clint Young, Tim Mayfield, David Mayfield, Patrick Thompson, III, Kelly Cannon and Dale Goodson. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Chandler, George Kemp, Clarence Havner, Ashford Napier, Tony Collins, Lester Gibson and Tommy Marchant.
