Robert J. Vinson, 85, of Spearman, Texas, died February 12, 2013 at Spearman, Texas. He was born May 24, 1927 in Greer County, Oklahoma, the son of Harry Andrew and Edith Parker Vinson. He was a former Cochran County sheriff and county clerk. He was also a parts manager at an implement dealership and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spearman, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Toombs Vinson, whom he married on March 18, 1945 and who preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Margaret Vinson in 1964.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Terry Vinson of Amarillo, Texas and Craig and Beverly Vinson of Spearman, Texas; one brother, Hollis Vinson of Mangum, Oklahoma; three sisters, Margie O'Neal of Pleasant Mount, Pennsylvania, Berry June Brown of Spiro, Oklahoma and Margaret Ann Wilkins of Benton Harbor, Michigan; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Saturday, February 16, at the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas.
