**Obituary
Barbara Ellen Pitcher, 83, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice house. She was born Nov. 8, 1939, to the late John and Lena Allen Phillips.
Barbara married her husband, James Cleveland Pitcher, on July 18, 1958. They lived in Delaplaine where they farmed up until James’ death in 2001. She then retired to Pocahontas and was a devoted member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church.
Barbara moved to Jonesboro in 2022 to live with her daughter, Karen.
She is survived by her three children, Diane (Bill) Jones, Michael Pitcher and Karen (Tony) Pearson; six grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Pitcher, Ashley (Burley) Shepard, Derek Pitcher, Jamê Pitcher, Sara (Cody) Harris and Casey Cox; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church in Pocahontas. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Brother Kevin Barnett officiating. A private burial will follow in Jones’ Ridge Cemetery at Delaplaine.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Pitcher, Derek Pitcher, Jamê Pitcher, Casey Cox, Burley Shepard and Cody Harris.
Honored to serve as an honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Compton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
All services are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
