HOBACK, Mattie MOTLEY - Mrs. Mattie Hoback, wife of W.D. Hoback, died at the family home at Vaughn Thursday, Jan. 22, 1931 at the age of 60 years. She had been ill the greater part of two years. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Vaughn on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw conducting the services. The church was filled with relatives and friends and there were many beautiful floral offerings. Burial was made in the Barron Cemetery. Mrs. Hoback was born in Jasper County, Mo. Jan. 18, 1871. When about 16 years of age the family moved to Benton County where she has since resided for the greater part of her life. At an early age Mrs. Hoback identified herself with the church and remained a member until the end. In 1893 she was married to W.D. Hoback. With the exception of two years residence in Texas all their married life was spent in the Vaughn community. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Hugh of Webb City and Roy of Oldton, Texas and by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Watson of Lubbock, Texas and Mrs. Eula Marshall of Los Angeles, all of whom were present at the funeral except Mrs. Marshall. She is also survived by her stepsons, Richard, Arthur and Robert Hoback and by two brothers, Arthur and Tom Motley of Vaughn community, also four sisters, Mrs. Mort Koons and Mrs. Anna Lane of Centerton, Mrs. Betty Wilson of Montana and Mrs. Lizzie Black.
